HN275 Francis Flood

HN275 Chief Inspector Francis 'Frankie' Flood was the last senior officer of the Special Demonstration Squad, from April 2007 until the unit was shut down in 2008. He died before the Inquiry started.

Flood's background was in Counter-Terrorism, rather than in Special Branch. He wrote a critical 'closing down' report on the unit. In testimony to the Inquiry, HN118 'Simon Wellings' said he made him aware that EN12 Mark Kennedy ('Mark Stone') appeared to be in a sexual relationship with an activist.
