Overview
The Tranche 3 opening statements were conducted online over 13 to 15 October 2025. They opened the third part of the Undercover Policing Inquiry's investigation, looking at Special Demonstration Squad undercovers principally deployed in the period 1982 to 2008 and the closure of the unit.
Oral opening statements were restricted to Phase 1 participants leading to complaints by the remaining core participants that they were being penalised by the Inquiry.
