National Union of School Students (NUSS)

According to the Trade Union Congress, 'The NUSS was formed in May 1972 following a series of school 'strikes' organised by the Schools Action Union. Its programme included campaigning for coeducational comprehensive education, school democracy, smaller classes and against corporal punishment and uniforms. The NUSS was dissolved some time after 1978.'

SDS reporting on politically active minors There are many examples of SDS surveillance of children, legally defined in the UK as anyone under the age of 18. The reporting falls into two broad categories. The first is this one, the targeting of groups that had predominantly non-adult participants, such as the Schools Action Union and School Kids Against the Nazis, or those who attended other political groups. Secondly there is reporting that mentions children's names, for instance young relatives of adults that the SDS was spying on. A third smaller category focusses on spycops babysitting for activists, not necessarily in reporting per se, but the issue is flagged up as a general safeguarding issue.
