League for Socialist Action

The League of Socialist Action formed out of one of the many splits within Trotskyist groups in the 1970s, after a group of members of the reunified Fourth International Chris Brian & World Socialist Web, The Fourth International, World Socialist Website, The Fourth International is the World Party of Socialist Revolution. It was founded by Leon Trotsky in 1938 in opposition to the Stalinist rule of the Soviet Union and the Communist (Third) International. In the later 20th Century, parties and groups who belonged to this tradtion included those spied-upon by the Special Demionstration Squad. These included the Socialist Workers Party, The International Marxist Group and the Revolutionary Communist Party., 2025. split from the International Marxist Group, having supported the American Socialist Workers Party’s tendency within the international.

Named a target in the 1976 SDS Annual Report, the organisation features in a handful of reports. Groups of the same name existed in Canada and the United States.
