Overview

The East London Marxist-Leninist Association (ELMLA) evolved out of the North London Alliance in Defence of Workers Rights (NLADWR), formed in April 1971. ELMLA produced The Bulletin, which was incorporated in a printed broadsheet newspaper, Class War.

ELMLA was involved in community-oriented campaigning in Wood Green and Turnpike Lane in north London. Although named a target in the 1976 SDS Annual Report, the only intelligence report on ELMLA relates to its merger with another Maoist group.
