Afro-Asian American Association

The Afro-Asian American Association was listed in the 1971 SDS Annual Report as a primary target of surveillance, though the Inquiry has released no reports mentioning the organisation. It is unclear which group it is referring to.

HN345 ‘Peter Fredericks’ HN345 'Peter Fredericks' ‘Peter Fredericks’ was the cover name of a former Special Demonstration Squad undercover officer who attempted to infiltrate Black Power organisations and groups campaigning for Bangladeshi independence in 1971. His SDS and Special Branch careers were short; he had left the SDS by the mid-1970s. In the Undercover Policing Inquiry, he is known by the nominal HN345. There were a number of United States-based groups that ‘brought together people of various Asian ancestries in the United States who protested against racism and US neo-imperialism’ that were active in the 1960s and 1970s.
