Overview

Chief Superintendent HN84 Raymond Parker was head of S Squad, from January 1986 until November 1989 and as such responsible for the Special Demonstration Squad in the hierarchy.

During his tenure, on 12 July 1987 incendiary devices ignited at the Harrow and Luton branches of Debenhams, a case the SDS was involved in. (And at the time HN587 Phelan was Special Branch Commander ‘Ops.)

Parker provided a statement to Herne only, and was said to be in ill health - did not give a witness statement to the Undercover Policing Inquiry.
