Overview

Chief Superintendent HN593 Bob Potter was a Special Branch Manager between January 1992 and July 1993, and as such oversaw the SDS.

He was ‘asked to leave’ the Met after an incident involving drunkenness and racialised abuse, which was discussed at the hearings.

In 1995, he nevertheless became head of security at Kew Gardens overseeing five sergeants and 16 constable.

He gave a statement to Operation Herne, but passed away before he could take part in the Undercover Policing Inquiry.
