HN50 David Golding

HN50 David T Golding was chief superintendent of S Squad for a very short period from November 1985 until January 1986, which included oversight of the Special Demonstration Squad.

He is mentioned in a disclosure note for the Tranche 3 managers' hearings in 2026, where he is mentioned within the context of a miscarriage of justice involving HN10 Robert Lambert ('Bob Robinson') and genuine activists. He also commented that an earlier arrest of HN10 in his cover identity, while unfortunate, would also boost his credibility with activists.

Golding submitted a witness statement to the Undercover Policing Inquiry, but has not been asked to give oral evidence at the hearings.
